CHURCH PICNIC
THIS SUNDAY! July 27, Church Picnic
Please join us for our annual summer picnic and service on July 27 at Delco Park, Shelter 3, at 10:30 am. Yes, you got that right — we will meet at Delco Park instead of our Good Shepherd church building. We will provide drinks, hot dogs and hamburgers. Everyone is invited to bring a dish to share. Call Eileen Hunter at 937-654-5588 with questions.
NEW: JOIN A JOURNEY OF FAITH
The Southern Ohio Synod is offering an opportunity for members of Good Shepherd to embark in Co:Lab, a 6-month program to enhance our mission with our community. A congregational team of 3-5 people is needed. There will be 6 monthly meetings with questions for us to explore. For more information read below or check out the synod website at https://southernohiosynod.org/congregations/co-lab/
If you are interested in joining the Good Shepherd team, please contact Judy Treadway at 4jtread@gmail.com by July 29.
Co:Lab is the Southern Ohio Synod’s program to revitalize congregations by equipping leaders and their communities of faith to build relationships, deepen faith, grow community, and identify and respond to God’s call for their congregation.
Co:Lab is a journey of discovery and holy experimentation. Through six monthly meetings the Southern Ohio Synod Co:Lab Team will help congregational leaders find new ways to join God’s mission in your community.
Between these meetings, congregational teams of 3-5 individuals will engage their congregations in 2-4 hours of additional work, focusing on each month’s emphasis in their own context, with support from the Co:Lab Team. Rostered Ministers, Synod Authorized Ministers (SAMs), and Lay Worship Leaders (LWLs) will also receive support through the Co:Lab Coaching Cohort.

The deadline to join the next cohort is August 1, 2025.

OUTREACH AND SERVICES
NEW: SCHOOL SUPPLIES DONATIONS
It’s that time of year! Our area schools start in mid August. Once again, we are partnering with Oakview Elementary. A box for School supplies will be in the Narthex next weekend. If you would like to contribute markers, pencils, glue sticks, folders or other materials, bring them to the bin. Watch for more specific suggestions from our partners next week.
FOOD PANTRY NEWS
Our June food donations were delivered to 4 local food pantries on July7 – totaling 250 food items. Thank you for faithfully remembering the families who are served by the food pantries in our community. As you make your personal food purchases, consider adding a few items for these families. It will be a wonderful way to help those around us. It is very helpful to avoid donations of food in glass containers so that nothing can be broken. You can bring your donations to church any time, but the next official Food Pantry Sunday will be August 3.
If you would like to volunteer on a Thursday at the Feeding Friends Pantry on Bigger Road near the former Victoria’s Secret Building, click here to sign up.
