NEW: LINGERING WITH THE LORD
Do you need some time away from the busyness of life? On the 4th Wednesday of the month come join us at GSLC for a time of prayer. Enjoy the chance to sing & pray, while also getting a moment to spend with the Lord in prayer by yourself.
There will be “stations” to help you focus or you can stay in your pew and pray, or you can just walk around the Sanctuary if that is what helps you enter some prayerful space for the Lord.
Come join us Wednesday, May 28, at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. All are welcome to join us!
PARISH LIFE
NEW: DON’S RETIREMENT
Don Bennett, Director of Youth and Family Ministry, is retiring on May 31, 2025. Don has served in this ministry at Good Shepherd for 22+ years. It is our honor to recognize Don’s service during worship on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1. Please plan to join us to celebrate this momentous occasion with snacks and fellowship in the Narthex after worship on June 1.
While celebrating Don’s retirement you might learn:
- Why Don was almost named Amy?
- What Don wanted to be when asked in fifth grade?
- What are his retirement plans that have already started?
The congregation is invited to make a contribution to Don’s retirement monetary gift. Please contribute by Sunday, May 25. Make all checks payable to GSLC. Place in the offering plates using the white offering envelopes available in the pews. Under special offering mark DON. If you use the Tithely app, there is a choice for “staff gift” that will be used for Don through May 25. You may also choose to send your gift to the church office indicating it is for Don’s retirement. We know this will be a special remembrance for Don’s service.
We look forward to celebrating Don with you!

OUTREACH AND SERVICES
Food Pantry News
Our April food donations were delivered to local food pantries on May 5 – totaling 291 food items. Thank you for faithfully remembering the families who are served by the food pantries in our community. As you make your personal food purchases, consider adding a few items for these families. It will be a wonderful way to help those around us. It is very helpful to avoid donations of food in glass containers so that nothing can be broken.
If you would like to volunteer on a Thursday at the Feeding Friends Pantry on Bigger Road near the former Victoria’s Secret Building, click here to sign up.
