LESTHO CHILI COOK OFF
Together with Harmony Creek Church we are going to have our annual chili cook off to raise money for the Lesotho Feeding Project. All of the monies raised go towards the ingredients and expenses incurred by this worthwhile initiative, sponsored by Wittenberg University. Please plan to attend on Sunday, May 3 following our 10:30 service in the Fellowship Hall. Vote for your favorite chili and enjoy camaraderie among our congregations. If you like to cook, please sign up to make a large crock pot of chili for the event. The sign up sheet is in the Narthex.
The packing day for the initiative will be on Saturday, May 9 in the Fellowship Hall from 9:00 am – 12: pm. Last year we had about 100 volunteers from both congregations and other organizations pack individual meals of rice, dehydrated vegetables, and protein powder which are sent to help feed impoverished children in Lesotho, one of the poorest parts of Southern Africa and the world.
For questions, contact Mary Pierce at councilpresident@goodshepherdkettering.com

OUTREACH AND SERVICES
FOOD PANTRY NEWS
Our February food donations were delivered to 4 local food pantries – totaling 248 food items. Thank you for faithfully remembering the families who are served by the food pantries in our community. As you do your personal food shopping, consider adding a few items for these families. It will be a wonderful way to help those around us. It is very helpful to avoid donations of food in glass containers so that nothing can be broken. You can bring your donations to church any time
If you would like to volunteer on a Thursday at the Feeding Friends Pantry on Bigger Road near the former Victoria’s Secret Building, go here: https://signup.com/group/5895388480124

Session 3 – God who leads us: Resurrection and life
God, our great I AM, promises to abide with us, guide us, protect us, and lead us into abundant life. We will dwell with the heart of Jesus as we ponder God’s holy name, I AM. Come join the discussion!
We will meet on Tuesday, May 12, at 7:30 pm via Zoom only or on Wednesday, April 15, 10:30 am in the GSLC Lounge or via Zoom.
