TIME CHANGE : Just a friendly reminder that Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 2nd. Remember to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night! We look forward to seeing you at church—right on time—for worship this Sunday!

ADVENT DECORATING TEAM

Mark Your Calendars! Following the Pumpkin Pie Fellowship on Saturday, November 23rd, we’ll need volunteers to help decorate the church for the Advent season. Many hands make light work!

Even if you can only stay to hang a few ornaments on the Christmas tree, your help will be greatly appreciated.

We look forward to sharing this joyful time of preparation with you!

HELPING HANDS: THIS SATURDAY

Due to Mother Nature being a bit tardy with dropping leaves, we will not be raking leaves on October 25th.  Instead, we plan on raking leaves on Saturday, Nov 1.

Bring your rakes Nov 1, 9 am- 11 am, and have some fun!

OWLS LUNCHEON

SAT NOV 8 at 12:30: Autumn’s multicolored leaves look like toppings on a pizza, so it’s time for the OWLS (Older & Wiser Lutherans) to head back to Marion’s Piazza for lunch. Silver-haired seniors are invited to meet at Marion’s Piazza (at Shroyer & Patterson) on Saturday, November 8 at 12:30 for food and fellowship. Friends are welcome. Questions? Call Ginny Herbeck at (937) 298-8876.

10:00 am – Noon
Survival Guide resource for this session is $10.
If you or someone you know is interested, you may register online at www.griefshare.org or call the church office. If you have any questions, contact Kathy Seim (937-901-0532) or Pam Bauser (937-602-8385).

Mark your calendars now!

FOOD PANTRY NEWS

Our September food donations were delivered to 4 local food pantries on October 7  – totaling 325 food items.  Thank you for faithfully remembering the families who are served by the food pantries in our community. As you do your personal food shopping, consider adding a few items for these families. It will be a wonderful way to help those around us.  It is very helpful to avoid donations of food in glass containers so that nothing can be broken.  You can bring your donations to church any time, but the next official Food Pantry Sunday will be Sunday, November 2 .

If you would like to volunteer on a Thursday at the Feeding Friends Pantry on Bigger Road near the former Victoria’s Secret Building, click here to sign up.

YOUR WEEKLY INVITATION:  #7 – God Uses Stories to Invite

“The chance to share our stories, listen to the stories of others and discern how God has been involved is a powerful opportunity for all of us to grow deeper in our faith and closer to each other….Stories of healing, reconciliation and restored hope offer a chance for the storyteller’s story to open a window into life that may help others see God at work. A good storyteller isn’t telling the story to say, “Look at me!” A well-told story offers a chance to see beyond the teller into a wider holy space in which we are all somehow connecting with something deeper. Listening to our lives and knowing our own story opens up opportunities to share our stories in meaningful ways. When it is shared well others feel blessed and inspired by the telling. In the process, holy space is created. It happens.”
