OUTREACH AND SERVICES
FOOD PANTRY NEWS
On October 19, we delivered 260 food items to 4 local food pantries. Thank you for faithfully remembering the families who are served by the food pantries in our community. As you do your personal food shopping, consider adding a few items for these families. It will be a wonderful way to help those around us. It is very helpful to avoid donations of food in glass containers so that nothing can be broken. You can bring your donations to church any time. In addition to the donated food items members contributed $1037 this past quarter from July-September. This money will be divided among the four pantries.
If you would like to volunteer on a Thursday evening at the Feeding Friends Pantry on Bigger Road near the former Victoria’s Secret Building, go here: https://signup.com/group/5895388480124
The Feeding Friends pantry consistently serves over 125 families each week. Our friends at Harmony Creek are one of several churches who sponsor the work of this pantry.
LIFELONG LEARNING

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY- BOLD FAITH on an UNEXPECTED JOURNEY
Ready for an UNEXPECTED Journey? Wondering what it means to have BOLD Faith? Wondering if God has a need for you? Come. Discover the faithful witness of Mary Magdalene. Allow the Holy Spirit to whisper God’s call to witness the resurrection in your life. Join us for the November Women’s Bible study prepared by Rev. Tiffany Chaney in the Gather Magazine. We meet Tuesday, November 10 at 7:30 pm on Zoom or Wednesday, November 11 at 10:30 am in person in the GSLC Lounge or on Zoom.
Rev. Tiffany Chaney leads us through the Gospels to witness the unexpected journey of Mary Magdalene. As we read the Gospel accounts and ponder Mary’s story, we come face to face with her astonishing witness of the resurrection proclaiming, “I have seen the Lord.” Mary sees the risen Christ, Jesus her Lord. She sees the Lord and her faithful witness proclaims what she sees to the disbelieving disciples. Mary continues to profess the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ changing the world forever. Each Bible study discussion encourages the sharing of stories, insights and perspectives. No special knowledge of the Bible is needed. All women are welcome.
The Zoom link for this Bible study is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/8218602439
Copies of this month’s Bible study are available on the counter in the Narthex. Help yourself!
